“Analytics Bootcamp” is a virtual program that will turn your employees into analytics wizards. The program can be conducted using SAS or R.
MODULE 1 : Introduction to Analytics (4 hours)
Part 1: Learn what analytics is all about. Use business case studies and examples to understand how and when to use an analytical approach to decision making for business.
Part 2: Get familiar with commonly used algorithms and techniques in analytics. Understand how analytics projects are managed and the basic steps in most projects.
MODULE 2 : Introduction to SAS (6 hours)
Part 1: The first part teaches you how to get started with SAS programming. You will learn about how SAS is set up and familiarize yourself with the basic functionality of SAS. You will also learn how to import data into SAS the first step of any analysis using SAS
Part 2: Learn how to manipulate, summarize, and report data and analysis using SAS in-built functions and procedures
MODULE 3 : Data Exploration using the SAS language (5 hours)
Part 1: Once you are familiar with how SAS works and how to manipulate data in SAS, you will then learn how to explore a dataset in SAS, to assess quality of data and generate initial insights. You will learn to identify outliers and how to deal with them, how to summarize data and look for trends and patterns in data
Part 2: This part covers the data preparation step. You will learn how to prepare data for any kind of predictive modelling.
MODULE 4 : Analytics with Excel (5 hours)
Part 1: Excel is widely used in the industry for reporting and basic insights. Learn how to use Excel to summarize and present data, and basic functionality in Excel including different types of functions.
Part 2: The second part of the Excel module covers topic like pivot tables, charts, and macros, with an emphasis on using Excel to report data insights
MODULE 5 : Statistics for Managers (8 hours)
Part 1: Analytical techniques are based on statistics concepts. Learn basic concepts in statistics with a view towards application to business situations. Learn how summary statistics are used to assess data and identify issues, as well as generate basic insights
Part 2: The second part focuses on inferential statistics, and will cover probability and distributions. Probability distributions are the basis of hypothesis testing, and at the end of the module you will learn the different types of hypothesis tests, how to use and interpret the tests, and appropriate situations to apply each kind of test.
MODULE 6 : Predictive modelling using the SAS language (12 hours)
Part 1: This module covers the modelling techniques that are at the core of the course. Learn how to generate regression models, both linear and logistic, using business data and SAS
Part 2: The techniques covered in this module include segmentation and clustering, and decision trees, two more widely used analytical approaches
